Platform & Third-Party Data Compliance

Effective January 1, 2026

Clippable's platform connects brands with content creators (clippers) and verifies campaign performance by reading content metrics from the social platforms where creators post. This page explains how Clippable accesses third-party platform data, what data is collected, and how Clippable ensures compliance with each platform's developer policies and terms of service.

Clippable does not scrape data. All third-party platform data is accessed exclusively through official, approved developer APIs using OAuth-based user authorization. Creators explicitly grant Clippable permission to read their performance metrics as part of the account connection flow. No data is accessed, stored, or used beyond what is necessary to verify campaign performance and calculate creator payouts.

Core principles that govern all platform data access:

  • Access only through official APIs with approved developer credentials
  • User-authorized via each platform's official OAuth flow - no unauthorized access
  • Minimum necessary data - only what is required to verify campaign performance
  • No data resale, advertising use, or transfer to unauthorized third parties
  • Retention limited to what is necessary for campaign settlement and legal compliance
  • Users can disconnect their accounts and revoke access at any time

Data Accessed

  • Creator profile identifiers and public metrics (follower count, total likes) from authorized accounts
  • Video performance data (views, likes, comments, shares) for content submitted to Clippable campaigns
  • Content metadata (video ID, URL, caption) needed to verify that submitted content is live and matches campaign requirements

How We Access It

Clippable integrates with TikTok's official Developer API under an approved developer application. Creators connect their TikTok accounts through TikTok's Login Kit (OAuth), and Clippable requests only the minimum scopes necessary to read video performance metrics. Clippable does not use TikTok's API for content distribution, advertising, or data aggregation beyond individual campaign verification.

Compliance Commitments

  • Access is limited to creators who have explicitly authorized Clippable through TikTok's Login Kit
  • Clippable does not collect or use TikTok data for advertising, audience targeting, or resale
  • Video metrics are fetched only for content that creators have actively submitted to a Clippable campaign
  • Clippable complies with TikTok's Platform Policy, including prohibitions on data harvesting and unauthorized automation
  • Data is not shared with third parties beyond what is necessary for campaign reporting to the brand that sponsored the campaign

User Controls & Data Revocation

Creators have full control over which platforms are connected to their Clippable account. At any time, you may:

  • Disconnect a platform account from Clippable's Connections page, which immediately revokes Clippable's ability to read new data from that platform
  • Revoke Clippable's app authorization from TikTok's security settings (TikTok Connected Apps)
  • Request deletion of your stored performance data by contacting privacy@clippable.io

Note: Disconnecting a platform account or revoking authorization will prevent Clippable from verifying future content performance on that platform, which may affect eligibility for campaigns that require that platform's data.

Our Commitment Against Unauthorized Data Collection

Clippable prohibits and does not engage in:

  • Web scraping or automated data extraction from any social media platform outside of official APIs
  • Using browser automation, headless browsers, or similar tools to access platform data
  • Accessing platform data on behalf of users who have not explicitly authorized Clippable
  • Circumventing rate limits, access controls, or technical measures implemented by any platform
  • Aggregating platform data for sale, licensing, or use in products not described to users at the time of authorization

Any suspected violation of this commitment should be reported to legal@clippable.io.
